Meet the matcha that started everything. Recess Ceremonial is a first-harvest, ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha grown in Uji, Kyoto — the historic heart of Japan’s finest tea. Fresh, vibrant, and naturally sweet, this blend is crafted from young spring leaves that deliver the perfect balance of smooth sweetness, bright green flavor, and soft, natural umami.
This is your everyday ceremonial matcha: creamy, consistent, and incredibly drinkable whether you whisk it straight or build the perfect matcha latte. Always fresh, never flat, and stone-milled to order for maximum flavor and color.

Cultivated for us, curated for you
Our matcha comes from a tea house that’s been doing this long before matcha was an aesthetic. Over 160 years ago, they literally saved Uji tea from disappearing — no exaggeration. The founder was such a legend they built a bronze statue of him beside Byodo-in Temple, right in the heart of Uji.
That same family still leads Japan’s tea tradition today, carrying on the craft that made Uji a global name. Their standard hasn’t changed: grow it right, mill it fresh, never cut corners. We just happen to share that obsession — keeping their legacy alive, one fresh tin at a time.
Old roots, fresh leaves.
