Uji Hikari
Uji Hikari
In stock
Meet Ujihikari, one of the rarest and most sought-after single-cultivar ceremonial matchas in Japan. Grown exclusively in Uji, Kyoto, this legendary varietal is celebrated for its silky body, natural sweetness, and unreal balance — the kind of harmony only first-harvest Uji leaves can deliver.
The first sip opens soft and savory, then drifts into notes of cocoa, sweet cream, and delicate florals, finishing clean and bright. Its color is an electric green, its texture impossibly smooth, and its flavor both deep and elegant — truly a unicorn in a tin.

Cultivated for us, curated for you
Our matcha comes from a tea house that’s been doing this long before matcha was an aesthetic. Over 160 years ago, they literally saved Uji tea from disappearing — no exaggeration. The founder was such a legend they built a bronze statue of him beside Byodo-in Temple, right in the heart of Uji.
That same family still leads Japan’s tea tradition today, carrying on the craft that made Uji a global name. Their standard hasn’t changed: grow it right, mill it fresh, never cut corners. We just happen to share that obsession — keeping their legacy alive, one fresh tin at a time.
Old roots, fresh leaves.
